American National offers a broad variety of life insurance, retirement annuities, accident and health insurance, pension plan products and services, credit insurance, and property/casualty insurance for personal lines, agribusiness and targeted commercial exposures. Products are distributed through career agents, independent marketing organizations and multiple line exclusive agents as well as direct distribution channels.
As a key member of the leadership team, and the successor in-waiting to the SVP & CHRO, the VP, HR will have significant responsibility and visibility as a culture driver for the organization. Effective change management, strategic thinking and the ability to design scalable solutions will be keys to success in this role, particularly when paired with the objective of retaining the Company’s strong, high-integrity culture. A player/coach mentality will be paramount and continuing to evolve the way in which HR operates inside the Company is also critical. This means raising expectations about the role of HR throughout the organization.
The VP, HR is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies, policies and programs in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, across the complete talent life cycle. This includes employer brand management, talent acquisition, workforce & succession planning, compensation & benefits, talent development & performance management, change management, organizational development, and integration. The VP, HR provides strategic leadership by translating business requirements and articulating HR needs and plans to leadership team members, shareholders, the board of directors and other relevant constituents.
