GattiHR Industrial Assists Schindler in Recruiting Lean Manager

The U.S. operation has ~$1.5 billion in revenue with approximately 5,300 employees, made up of three area businesses. The U.S. is a part of the “Americas Zone,” which covers an expansive geography, including Central and South America, with nearly $3 billion in revenue and 12,000+ employees. Although the focus of this position is specific to the U.S., there is opportunity for expansion into other businesses across the Americas Zone.

Reporting directly to the head of supply chain engineering, this individual will be responsible for learning best practices over a wide range of difficult and complex operational activities and processes, which include but are not limited to: Observing the current manufacturing environment and developing and maintaining a lean transformation plan for both daily and long term improvements; developing processes and techniques to mentor all levels of the organization toward a continuous improvement culture; initiating lean manufacturing within each location using various tools, techniques, and other improvement concepts to develop the transformation plan further; communicating with management about the progress and success of initiatives via reports and visuals; providing lean coaching and training for all site employees; and driving improvements towards a one piece flow.   

The right candidate will lead in planning, implementing, leading, and tracking the lean projects. He/she will primarily be focused on the manufacturing facility in Hanover, PA, where the candidate will develop best practices, lead changes within the manufacturing site and understand the overall business. The candidate will also provide leadership to lean initiatives at Schindler’s other Hanover-based facilities (which include logistics and office functions) and occasionally travel to other Schindler locations.
